Roofing bid follow-up: 3 emails for homeowners still comparing quotes

Roofing goes quiet for two reasons: the homeowner is holding three bids they can't compare, or they're waiting on a carrier. Both are solvable with information rather than pressure, so this sequence spends its middle touch teaching the comparison instead of defending the number.

Audience: Homeowners who collected roofing bids and then went quiet

Day 0

Did your roof project ever get off the ground?

Hi {{first_name}} — we bid {{amount}} on the {{job_type}} in {{month}}, and then it went quiet. Did you end up going ahead with someone? If you did, genuinely no hard feelings and I'll close the file. If it stalled instead, tell me where — that's usually a question I can answer in one reply. — {{rep_name}}, {{company}} {{company_address}} · {{unsubscribe}}

Day 5

Comparing bids? Here's what to line up

{{first_name}} — if you're holding two or three numbers right now, the spread between them is almost never the shingle. Put the proposals side by side and check four lines: tear-off versus going over the existing layers, how much decking replacement is included before it becomes an extra, whether ice-and-water is spec'd where your roof actually needs it, and how long the workmanship warranty runs as opposed to the manufacturer's. Send me the other bid and I'll mark ours up against it honestly. — {{rep_name}}, {{company}} {{company_address}} · {{unsubscribe}}

Day 14

If this turns into an insurance claim

{{first_name}}, I'll leave you alone after this. One thing worth knowing: policies differ on how long you have to file after storm damage, so if you think weather played a part, read yours before the window matters. I'm glad to do a documented inspection with photos you can hand to an adjuster, whether or not we end up doing the work. Keep this thread — replying to it is enough. — {{rep_name}}, {{company}} {{company_address}} · {{unsubscribe}}

{{placeholders}} — swap in the lead's details, or let campaigns fill them automatically.

When they reply, the sequence stops and the conversation starts

We got a cheaper bid, honestly.

Appreciate you saying it straight rather than ghosting me. Before you sign, check three lines on theirs: is tear-off included or is it an overlay, how many sheets of decking are covered before it becomes a change order, and how many years the workmanship warranty runs. Those three account for most of the gap I see between bids on a {{job_type}}. Send it over and I'll line it up against ours — if theirs is genuinely the better job, I'll tell you so.

Before you send this

Commercial email must identify the sender, carry a valid physical postal address, and offer a working opt-out that is honored promptly (CAN-SPAM). The sending system appends {{company_address}} and {{unsubscribe}} to every touch and stops the sequence on any opt-out or reply; the placeholders are written into the copy above so a hand-copied template still ships compliant.
